More Softball Game . . .

A quick update to the softball game pictures.

This game is a wonderful tradition because it honors Commander Joe Baker, our first NJROTC instructor, who died from cancer in February of 2002. He was a good man who worked hard for the students at our school, and really inspired excellence in all those around him. We raise money through ticket sales, a midway, and donations from clubs and sports, and award student scholarships and make a donation to a local charity. This year, we raised close to $3000 for the Fort Bend Women's shelter!

I've been lucky to have been a part of the organizing committee for this game since the first year, and it's wonderful how it brings the students and teachers together for a great cause.

But I may have to move into a supervisory role as a cheerleader, because it's Friday and my back and knees are still aching . . . Maybe Roger Clemens can put me in touch with his doctor . . . kidding, kidding.
